Eric Dickerson Says 'It's BS' Tim Tebow Gets an NFL Job Before Colin Kaepernick

It has been announced this week that Tim Tebow has been signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars, despite him being out of the NFL since 2012 - and now Eric Dickerson has spoken out...
This move caused quite a lot of anger... especially among fans of the famous Colin Kaepernick who has been shunned from the NFL since 2017.
But no one will sign Colin Kaepernick because hE hASn'T pLayEd in ForEvER and He woUlD bE a DiSTracTioN

Tim Tebow hasn’t played football in 6 years and will be 34 heading into training camp and he just signed with the Jags. From here on out, I don't ever want to hear another word about how Colin Kaepernick isn't good enough for another shot in the NFL.

Tebow - Hasn't played in the NFL since 2012. Gets another shot.

Kaepernick - Hasn't played since 2016. Gets nothing.
What's the difference? Can't seem to put my finger on it... pic.twitter.com/F9BF5CdqKX
There’s no way you can tell me that Tim Tebow deserves to be on a team as an unproven tight end who hasn’t played in 9 years more than Colin Kaepernick. There’s just no way that’s gonna make sense.

Remember, Colin Kaepernick isn’t in the NFL because...
— Joe Praino (@FixYourLife) May 10, 2021
- “he was a terrible QB”
- “he brings a media circus everywhere”
- “he hasn’t played in years”
- “kneeling is disrespectful” pic.twitter.com/12vwtUlTIz
Tim Tebow hasn’t played in 8 seasons.

Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played in 4.
This signing destroys the “Kaepernick has been out of the league too long” narrative. https://t.co/RzehBbtVd6 pic.twitter.com/oazE5fKIIg
Yeah, no. If Tebow gets another shot, Kaepernick should too. Idc if it’s a backup role or as a punter. He’s talented enough to be an NFL quarterback.

The fact that religious chauvinist, Tim Tebow, gets another shot at the NFL before Colin Kaepernick does proves once and for all it's not about talent and never was.

Now, Colin Kaepernick is a former quarterback-turned-activist...
But these days, he is best known for his political activism regarding systematic racism against African-Americans.
He kneels for what he believes in.
In 2016, during the 49ers third preseason game, Kaepernick began kneeling during the U.S national anthem prior to games, rather than standing as is customary.
He knelt during the national anthem in protest of police shootings of African-American men and other social injustices faced by black people in the US.
Speaking in an interview in 2016, Kaepernick said: "To me, this is something that has to change, and when there's significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it's supposed to represent and this country is representing people the way that it's supposed to, I'll stand."
His kneeling was a sign of respect.
Kaepernick later said that he "couldn't show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color." He opted for kneeling over sitting, however, as a sign of respect for the men and women who fight for the United States.
Kaepernick's actions inspired others...
And his teammate, Eric Reid, soon began to kneel beside him alongside other teammates such as Antoine Bethea, Eli Harold, Jaquiski Tartt, and Rashard Robinson.
The NFL's response wasn't positive, however.
Initially, the NFL released a statement claiming that players were only encouraged, and not required, to stand during the national anthem. But, in 2017, Kaepernick became a free agent. No team would offer him a contract, and, in October of that year, he filed a grievance against the league, accusing team owners of colluding to keep him signed.
Yet players still continued to kneel.
After Kaepernick's attorney stated that "athletes who protest peacefully should not be punished", public backlash mounted until team owners declared that all team personnel on the field must "stand and show respect for the flag and the anthem."
This announcement caused even more outrage...
Statement from NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell https://t.co/1Vn7orTo1R
— NFL (@NFL) 1527092658.0
And it was announced if any team members were caught kneeling during the anthem, the team would be fined and the decision would be upon the team leader whether or not they punish that particular player.
It's been almost 4 years since Kaepernick played his last NFL game...
So it has, of course, come as a shock to the NFL community to learn that Tim Tebow has been signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
As per ESPN, the Jacksonville Jaguars said:
"The Jacksonville Jaguars are expected to sign Tebow, thirty-three, to a 1-year contract later this week or next week to play tight end, a position he never played in high school, college, or his previous 3-year NFL career. A deal has not been agreed upon at this time. Once he signs, he will be reunited with Jaguars coach Urban Meyer, who coached Tebow at Florida and won a pair of national championships with the Gators."
Considering that Tebow hasn't played an NFL snap since 2012, people found it pretty contradictory that he is allowed to get signed but Kaepernick isn't...
Especially due to the fact that Tebow used to kneel and pray to God before each of his games.
And now Hall of Fame running back Eric Dickerson has spoken out, too.
"Oh, man, come on.You know what I think about that. That's bulls***. That's bulls***," he said.
"That's bulls***. That's how the NFL is. You know, it's different for us. I'll say that."
"Of course [Kaepernick] is getting punished. He's black."
"It's a different league for us."
"It's the truth and we know it. And I hate that because it's wrong."
Is this really fair?
What do you think? Do you think Kaepernick should have the right to return to the NFL just as Tebow did?
