Went to high school with Antron and would run into him in the same basketball circles later in life. He was always great to be around and was always accepting of others. Heck of a ball player, even better person. Thankful to know him and I’ll miss him

Antron was my best friend in college. He was also my roommate. We shared a lot of good and bad times together. His energy was infectious. He was always laughing, always had a smile on his face. He gave like 5 of us STR8 Pippen shirts that year (still own mine). This hurts.

Thoughts are with friends and family of Antron Pippen. He was the son of Scottie but I never remember him bragging about it, he talked about his Mom.

Now, we all know Scottie Pippen best for being a basketball legend.
The fifty-five year old played seventeen seasons in the NBA and he won 6 NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls.
The former basketball pro has 8 children, each from different relationships.
He first married Karen McCollum in 1988 and their firstborn son, Antron Pippen, was born.
Scottie then married Real Housewives star Larsa Younan Pippen in 1997 and they had 4 children: Scotty Jr., Preston, Justin, and Sophia Pippen. He also has a daughter named Sierra with his former fiancée Yvette De Leon and a daughter named Taylor with his former girlfriend Sonya Roby.
Sadly, Taylor's twin sister Tyler died 9 days after the pair were born in 1994...
And even more sadly so, Taylor has never had a solid relationship with her father.
"I don't know what he's like as a father. He never wanted to meet me. He decided that, and I prefer not to think about it too much," she said, according to Gigantes.
Antron, Scottie's firstborn, inherited his father's athletic ability and played college basketball for Texas A&M International University...
But sadly, he never made it into the pros.
And this week, Scottie announced the most tragic of news.
Antron has died at the young age of thirty-three.
Taking to social media, Scottie wrote in an emotional message:
"I'm heartbroken to share that yesterday [April 18th], I said goodbye to my firstborn son Antron. The 2 of us shared a love for basketball and we had countless conversations about the game."
He continued:
"Antron suffered from chronic asthma and if he hadn't had it, I truly believe he would've made it to the NBA. He never let that get him down, though - Antron stayed positive and worked hard, and I am so proud of the man that he became."
Scottie finished the statement with:
"Please keep his mom, Karen, and all of his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers. A kind heart and beautiful soul gone way too soon. I love you, son, rest easy until we meet again."
Scottie hasn't confirmed his son's cause of death...
But the fact Antron suffered from chronic asthma has certainly had people speculating as to what may have happened.
Rest in Peace, Antron.
Our deepest thoughts and condolences go out to Scottie and his family during this difficult time.
