The Internet is Angry at the Way Cops Escorted Colorado Shooting Suspect to Car

Last night, a mass shooting took place at a Colorado store.

And while the internet has been flooded with condolence messages, many have also raised questions about how the suspect was escorted to the car. Here's the full story...

How is this still happening?

It's 2021, and we are still living in fear of these devastating mass shootings.

Last night, a man opened fire in a Colorado store.

10 people were killed in the mass shooting.

The devastating incident is said to have taken place just before 3 PM at the King Soopers store.

The suspect is believed to have entered the store and started shooting.

As per the BBC, shoppers and employees said they had to dive for cover or run to safety as the shooting unfolded.

Part of the shooting was captured on camera by a passer-by. It was also live-streamed by witnesses and broadcast on YouTube.

In the video, the cameraman can be heard shouting: "I don't know what's going on... I heard gunshots, someone's down."

"There's an active shooter, get away".

The Boulder police department later warned people to avoid the area and told them not to "broadcast on social media any tactical information you might see".

Ryan Borowski, who was in the store at the time of the shooting, spoke to CNN and explained his shock: "This feels like the safest spot in America, and I just nearly got killed for getting a soda and a bag of chips."

The shooter is believed to have killed 10 people, including fifty-one-year-old Eric Talley, the first police officer to respond to the shooting.

During a press conference, Boulder police chief Maris Herold said: "The heroic action of this officer when he responded to the scene... phone calls of shots fired in the area and a phone call about a possible person with a patrol rifle."

She also confirmed that a suspect was in custody and receiving hospital treatment.

Herold did not elaborate much further on the shooting, but noted that it is "very complex."

Details about victims have not yet been released.

And while an investigation is underway, the motive behind the shooting is still unclear.

People are taking to social media to share their shock and condolences.

And also to share their anger...

Not only for the actions of last night, but...

Large numbers are condemning the police for their treatment of the suspect....

Many are furious about the treatment of the suspect.

A white man was safely "escorted" outside, before being driven away in an ambulance.

While the suspect looked unharmed, many have expressed that they believe it would have been different if it was a Black man.

This tragedy comes less than a week after a mass shooting in Atlanta that left 8 dead at 3 spas.

Our thoughts are with the victims' friends and family.
